Please be informed that - in support to the communication cited below -
the ICT4EDC Project (www.ict4edc.kn) will be able to fund five
participants from St. Kitts and Nevis. The funding for each participant will cover travel expenses and per diems (including hotel accommodation and food).
The candidates must agree to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to
ensure they give relevant input to the Project upon return to St. Kitts
and Nevis. This can be done via photo documentation, articles, reports, or
other content, which can be used in order to share lessons learnt and
inspire other digital content developers in St. Kittts and Nevis.
The applications will be evaluated on a first-come-first-serve basis.

(UTT) and Platinum sponsor Ericsson is offering *a 2 day Android workshop*,

*to all i-Create registrants and US$100 to non registered participants.
The workshop will be held from the 17th -18th March, 2011 at the UTT
O’Meara Campus in Arima, Trinidad , and will cover the following:

* Introduction to Android, quick look at the platform and the market.
* Installing and setting up the development environment
* Creating your first project
* Building a simple layout in the editor
* Working with the debugger
* Processing user input
* Menus and Dialogues
* Intents and Actions
* More advanced user interface handling

* Interacting with the Camera
* Working with persistent data
* Asynchronous tasks
* Sending and receiving data from web server
* Data processing
* Styling the interface
* Subtle animation and effects

Competition Overview
i-Create 2010-11 is the first edition of CANTO’s Caribbean e-Content Competition which aims to search out and reward the most creative and innovative e-content developers in the Caribbean region.
Competition rules dictate that successful content submissions must be accessible via electronic media and may take the form of video, games, photos, mp3, web or mobile applications. Entries may be submitted according to any one of the exciting categories listed below:

Eligibility Requirements
You and your team must be residents of a CANTO member Caribbean territory. In other words, Suriname, Guyana, Aruba, Netherlands Antilles, Trinidad & Tobago, Grenada, Dominica, St. Lucia, Antigua and Barbuda, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Barbados, St. Maarten, Anguilla, Turks and Caicos Island, Haiti, Montserrat, USVI, Tortola,Jamaica, Cuba, Bermuda, The Cayman Islands,The Bahamas and Belize
2. The participant(s) must own the e-Content they are submitting, and all the material therein must be licensed and original. Anyone with any outstanding copyright issues will not be able to compete. Sorry.
3. Participants must be committed to developing e-Content that is relevant, innovative and raises the quality of life for the consumers of the e- content.

Just remember two things: First, all the sections on the form are important, so make sure you don’t leave out any details about yourself or your team members. If you have any problems registering then email us; we’ll be happy to help you out. Second, and most important, you must commit yourself to submitting a winning e-Content creation and having a lot of fun doing so!
